Your Massage & Aromatherapist
After nearly 14 years working as a massage therapist, I know that there are many reasons why you may find yourself on my table.
You might be a busy mum, taking some well-deserved time out. You might be in your retirement years, prioritising your health so you can live life to its fullest. You might be a tradesman, taking a moment in your busy day to ensure you can work without pain. Or, you might be a dad, who tripped over his son’s cricket bat and realised you’re not as young as you used to be.
Whatever the reason is that has brought you to me, you’re in safe hands. I finished studying my Diploma of Therapeutic Massage and Remedial Therapies in 2009, and have gone on to formally study further in Advanced Sports Massage, Aromatherapy, Reiki, Traditional Thai Massage and Myofascial Release - I’m committed to on-going learning and development, every year. I am a Level 6 registered therapist with Massage New Zealand, which means that your treatment can be be covered by insurance policies such as the Southern Cross Wellbeing policy.
Last and definitely not least, I am currently studying the Dr Vodder technique of manual lymphatic drainage massage. As this is an extremely in depth technique catering to all levels of lymphatic system pathologies, I am not yet qualified or trained well enough to treat people with less than healthy lymphatic systems.
Beyond the certifications, is something equally important. It’s the intuitive ability to gauge the stress and tension in your body. It’s the innate understanding of what your body needs in order to relax or rebalance. It’s the feeling of care, compassion and calm you’ll experience when you step into my clinic room.
I’ve travelled the world, met diverse people, seen amazing places, discovered different perspectives and learnt languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese) - which have all contributed to shaping my open mind, kind heart and spiritual self-assuredness.
